Ground Penetrating Radar
We use ground penetrating radar (GPR) to determine the locations of below ground utilities and buried objects. This technology transmits high-frequency radio waves into the ground and analyzes the reflected energy to create a profile of the sub surface features.
ADI uses the latest and most advanced GPR equipment available on the market and has the ability to detect:
- Metal utilities, including pipes and cables
- Non-metallic pipes, including PVC and asbestos cement
- Concrete storm and sewer systems
- Utilities where installed tracer wiring has failed
- Underground storage tanks and drainage tiles
- Septic system components
- Non-utility structures such as vaults, foundation walls and concrete pads
Our GPR services include:
- Site reviews, data collection, spatial data analysis and result presentation
- Survey reports displaying the existing utilities on images taken in the field
- Marking the location of buried utilities in the field, thereby providing visible lines for easy identification and referencing
All GPR surveys done by ADI are carried out by trained GPR technicians in accordance with the ASTM D-6432-19 standard.
